Can somebody help me please?!!

**** okay people, crisis has been adverted... I was not logging into Blogger with Google Chrome and all my junk we messed up!!!  I think I've got things under control and the blog has turned from crisis mode to nice, calm design blog that it was meant to be.  Still can't figure out how to get my Pinterest and Facebook buttons to be side by side but whatevs...atleast they are there!!!  Thank you very much and have a great day! :)

So this is what it looks like when I am creating a new post for this blog... you see, I can't fully see my toolbar.  It is insanely frustrating!!!  Also, if I want to insert an image I have to hit "Send Feedback" tab on the far right bottom to get the Browser window to pop up.  I don't know what to do about this and instead of it being easy and convenient to create a post, I am unbelievably frustrated.

Anyone have any idea how to fix this???  I have looked online and not coming up with anything.  Would greatly appreciate any help.  Thanks! ~ Kim

Love ya!

Thank you to my two new followers!! :) ... up to 11 now!!!

Inspiration Friday No.5 ~ Favorite Spaces

Well, I am back from the living dead... so sorry I missed posting yesterday, the stomach bug that hit my kids finally got me!  But I'm back and feeling much better :)  So here is "Inspiration Friday" on Saturday, better late than never!  My slipcovers are in and I'm waiting for a time that I can go get them because I have to drive a ways to pick them up.  I am so excited but I am also terrified at the fact of having (almost) white slipcovers.  I'm no dummy, I know with 2 kids and 1 hairy, black dog that I am doomed to have forever dirty furniture.  I think Clorox bleach and I might become best friends.

Here is some slipcover goodness, the reasons that I am excited for the new look for our house:

Signs...

I now totally have the "I Saw the Sign" song in my head by Ace of Base... so last night I was over at Maple and Magnolia blog looking at all of her wonderful signs and I remembered that I haven't done a blog post about the sign I made.  It's kind of a "House Rules" sign that you see so much around blogland, but I put the things that really meant something to me and what I felt was important for my children, for our own personal sign.

   Here is my inspiration picture:

This is what I ended up with.

The process went like this:  I went to Home Depot and bought a piece of plywood, primed it and painted it white.  I took vinyl letters from the craft store in 2 different sizes and laid out my words.  I found this part to be tedious because all the letters had to be centered and in line with each other.  Then I painted it Martha Stewart's River Mist, let that dry and then removed the vinyl letters, and sanded it down to give it a distressed finish.  Speaking of finishing, I never sealed it because I am completely impatient.

I would say overall it was really easy but getting the letters just right was a pain.

...and I totally plan to steal this sign idea for my kitchen.  :)

** Can I just say that whatever Blogger is doing to "update" the site is frustrating and is making it difficult to create posts because I can not see my tool bar.  Is anyone else experiencing this?  I have sent a few feedback messages but it has not changed.  Very frustrating!

In bloom...

I get so excited this time of year to see all the flowers blooming.  Some we planted and some that were here when we moved in.

The tried and true Azalea is big in our area.  Not my favorite, but they are pretty when they are in bloom.

Spring blooming Camelia was early this year.  They are all dying, but they were so pretty when they were in full bloom.

Kwanzan Cherry Tree we planted last year.  Poor thing is still slim but it's blooming!

Love the irises.

Pink Gentle Giant rose bush, I can not wait for these to bloom!!

Knock Out Roses.  Love, love, love these... I can not say enough about how easy and low maintenance these are.  I know they are not the "true" roses but I don't care, they are super easy and are a big impact for our massive front yard.

Fourth of July climbing rose, these came in great at the end of summer last year.

These poor, poor hydrangea plants.  I imagine these are very old, I just trimmed the dead wood down because they were looking scraggly!  Anyone have any ideas how I can bring these two back to life?  They didn't produce a single bloom last year.

More hydrangeas that I planted last year, there are 5 here.  I have a total of 9 plants in our yard and I am praying that they produce because I love a good display of hydrangeas on my dining room table!

The reason my husband wanted to buy this house!

... his babies!  We need to re-mulch this bed and I still haven't figured out what to plant here.  I think something tropical...

Petunias (right?!) that came back.

And this is a rose that I cut late last October from the Gentle Giant rose bush.  This thing was HUGE.

I'm looking forward to seeing what else comes up this Summer, we love working in our yard and seeing the progress that we have made in the 2 years that we have been here!

Sunday Funday

*** Blogger is making some changes and I am having a hard time putting posts together, bear with me as I try to figure out the new format. :)

What I did this weekend..  my husband and I drove up Sunday to Richmond to see the Zac Brown Band play at the Richmond Coliseum.  We stayed the night with Mike's cousin who is a student at VCU.  We had a blast and I wish we had more time to hang out in Richmond but we left my in-laws with a sick child, so we had to back early Monday morning.

Some progress and another HomeGoods...I love you!!!

I worked on the office/guest room yesterday and made some progress.  I still need a desk, curtains, art work... but I can walk in the room!  Progress people! :)

...all of my favorite things.  My fabric samples, paint samples, magazines,
and my makeup case (on the right).

ugh...

much better.

So I went poking around HomeGoods (TJ Maxx) the other day.  I never leave there without a mental checklist of what I want to go back for.  I took some pictures for your enjoyment...

This guy was huge, I can totally see this with a bunch of flower pots and flowers filling it up.  So cute!

I love this pillow!

Can you imagine this in a kitchen?  Incredible.

I mean, come on...they are just too cute!
