Inspiration Friday No.35 ~ Spring is Green

What says Spring more than the color green?

Coastal Living

Pantone named emerald green the Color of the Year for 2013.
It is fresh and bright, a happy color.
It is also the color of wealth and prosperity.

Spring Fling Link Party

spring fling party button kate

I linked over at Centsational Girl for the Spring Fling link party to show off my diy chalkboard.  I didn't take a before picture of what this looked like when I bought it at the thrift store, but imagine a foamboard poster with a navy blue plastic frame.  Ugly.  I took out the foam board and painted it with chalkboard paint and painted the frame Benjamin Moore's White Dove.  I really wanted a distressed frame but when I realized that the frame was actually plastic and not wood (much later after I had already bought it and brought it home), I had to come up with a different plan.  I bought Folk Art Antiquing Medium in Wooden Bucket and transformed this ugly frame into what looks like an antiqued wood.  Score!!  I also discovered Chalk Ink found at Michael's Arts and Crafts store.  It goes on like a marker and dries to a chalk.  Genius.

Happy Spring everyone!!!

Spring has sprung & an early Easter display...

My son, who will be 4 years old next month, went out onto the deck this afternoon and exclaimed "Mommy it's snowing!!".  Well, I knew that wasn't right because it was 70 degrees here today!... but it was the white petals falling from the trees over the deck.  They are plum trees, I think??  They are so pretty, we have 4 of them in our yard, and they have small white flowers and then red plum looking fruits form.

The bees were HUGE and they were everywhere!

And the spring-y Easter decoration that I broke out a little early, but I've been looking at this bunny for weeks since I found him at the thrift store:

Happy early Spring, I am so loving this weather!!!

Have you started decorating for Spring yet? :)
